Entries for Winner Shows in December are open

The Finnish Kennel Club organizes Finland’s biggest dog shows on 7th and 8th December 2019. Saturday’s dog show Helsinki Winner 2019 is a Nordic Dog Show, and Sunday's show Voittaja Winner 2019 an International Dog Show. In addition to the Winner Shows, two unofficial puppy shows are also held over the weekend. Entries for all four shows are now open and the lists of judges have been published.

Dogs

There are about 800,000 dogs in Finland (Taloustutkimus) and pedigree dogs account for 80 % of this number. Finland is home to more than 300 different dog breeds and each of them has its own breed club. The Finnish Kennel Club registers some 43,000 dogs each year.

The Finnish Kennel Club introduces Government Working Dogs of 2022: customs dog Hessu, military dog Oikku, prison dog Hippi, police dog Sampo, and border guard dog Clapton

Each year, the Finnish Kennel Club awards Government Working Dogs of the Year. This year, customs dog Hessu, military dog Oikku, prison dog Hippi, police dog Sampo, and border guard dog Clapton are awarded. The Government Working Dogs of the Year have been nominated by Finnish Customs, Finnish Defence Forces, Prison and Probation Service of Finland, Police of Finland, and Finnish Border Guard.
