Scottish Terrier Quaint Theofilo Best in Show at Helsinki Winner 2023. The dog is owned by Arja Tuuliniemi. The Best in Show judge was Moa Persson from Sweden. 7356 dogs were entered to Saturday’s shows, 850 of these competed in Helsinki Winner Puppy Show.

An additional general meeting of the World Canine Organisation FCI has unanimously accepted new rules for the organisation in Brussels on 15 August 2018. The new rules aim to further enforce FCI’s activities by, for example, setting more prerequisites for becoming a member, and by outlining the procedure in case a member is in violation of the rules.

On 22nd November 2019, the Board of the Finnish Kennel Club decided that the parentage of 15 litters in total of the breeds Finnish Lapphund and Lapponian Herder must be confirmed by 30th June 2020. If the parentage has not been confirmed, the dogs concerned are transferred to the Finnish Kennel Club’s studbook for dogs not to be used for breeding (EJ Register).

The two-day Dog Fair Finland at Messukeskus in Helsinki attracted once again a large crowd of dog enthusiasts and those interested in dogs. 

Dog Fair Finland had altogether 37,000 visitors over the weekend. The event was a success and the highlight of the year for several dog enthusiasts. Finnish Spitz Loukkaharjun Aito Lempi was appointed as Best in Show at Voittaja Winner 2018 – e Finnish Winner show – held on Sunday. The dog is owned by Päivi Silomäki and Toivo and Anni Lielahti. The Best in Show dog at this international show was chosen by Leni Finne, Finland.
