Dogs living in Norway prohibited from taking part in canine events in Finland until 30th September

The Board of the Finnish Kennel Club has decided to extend the prohibition for dogs living in Norway to participate in canine events in Finland until 30th September 2019. The prohibition concerns all canine events held under the aegis of the Finnish Kennel Club. The decision is re-evaluated before 30th September. The reason for the prohibition is a serious illness affecting dogs in Norway.

DogWellNet – international cooperation to promote canine health and well-being

The Finnish Kennel Club works for the health and well-being of dogs both in Finland and on an international scale. One of the international cooperation organisations is the International Partnership For Dogs, or IPFD, which maintains the DogWellNet website. DogWellNet contains information collected and produced for the website, links and documents from all over the world on the work done for promoting canine health and well-being. The aim is to create a community of the people working with these issues and benefits from best practices and tools used elsewhere. The Finnish Kennel Club encourages all breed clubs and associations to produce material for the website.

New Vaccination Regulations enter into force in February

The Finnish Kennel Club’s Vaccination Regulations have been revised. The new regulations are valid as of February 1st, 2020. According to the revised regulations, the dog must have valid vaccinations against canine distemper, parvovirus, infectious canine hepatitis, and rabies in order to attend events held under the Finnish Kennel Club.
